Portugal faced the Czech Republic this Tuesday, in the first round of the European Championship, at the Red Bull Arena. In turn, with a goal scored in stoppage time, the team led by Cristiano Ronaldo won 2-1.
With the result, Portugal adds its first three points and takes second place in group F, while the Czech Republic is in third place. Turkey leads the group due to goal difference, with Georgia at the bottom.
The match marked Cristiano Ronaldo’s sixth participation in the European Championships, a record. The Portuguese competed in the 2004, 2008, 2012, 2016, 2020 and 2024 editions, beating Spaniard Iker Casillas.
Portugal returns to the field this Saturday, at 1 pm (Brasรญlia time), against Turkey, at Signal Iduna Park. The Czech Republic will face Georgia on the same day, at 10 am, at the Volksparkstadion.

The goals were scored only in the second stage. Vladimir Coufal played for Lukรกs Provod, who struck from outside the box to put the Czech Republic ahead in the 17th minute.
The Portuguese equalizer came at 25, after Nuno Mendes sent a cross into the middle of the area and Robin Hranac deflected it into his own goal. Diogo Jota found the net, but the goal was disallowed due to Cristiano Ronaldo being offside in the 43rd minute.
The turnaround for the Portugal team occurred in stoppage time. Francisco Conceiรงรฃo took advantage of defender Hranac’s mistake in an attempt to clear a cross and scored the winning goal, in the 47th minute of the second half.
