The Slovak team beat Belgium 1:0 in the Euro 2024 match

The Slovakian national team defeated the Belgian team in the match of the first round of the Euro 2024 group stage. This was reported by a Lenta.ru correspondent.

The meeting of Group E took place on June 17 in Frankfurt at the Deutsche Bank Park stadium and ended with a victory for the Slovaks with a score of 1:0. The only goal was scored in the seventh minute of the match by forward Ivan Shrants. Two goals by Romelu Lukaku for the Belgian national team were canceled after VAR intervention: in one case, the striker was offside, in the other, Lua Openda, who assisted him, played along with his hand.

Earlier, on June 17, another Group E match took place, in which the Romanian team defeated Ukraine with a score of 3:0. Nicolae Stanciu, Razvan Marin and Denis Dragus scored for the Romanians. It was forbidden to bring Russian flags into the stadium, and during the game, the flag of the Donetsk People’s Republic was noticed on the stands where fans of the Romanian national team were located.

Euro 2024 takes place in ten cities in Germany from June 14 to July 14. The Russian national team misses the tournament due to suspension by decision of the Union of European Football Associations.
