The blowout is also visible on Filmweb, where three reviewers rated the production five stars on average, and over two thousand viewers rated it two stars less. On IMDb, about 55 percent. the ratings given are 1/10, which also happens quite rarely. The situation is no different from the one we can observe on the Meta Critic platform. Here the rating based on reviews is 67, and the one from users – 4.2.

Everything points to the fact that the latest Disney Plus series has been a victim of the so-called review bombing, i.e. massive and deliberate lowering of the ratings of a given production, not necessarily due to its actual quality. It is difficult to prove that the action was organized from below, but it is most likely due to angry Star Wars fans that “The Acolyte” is the worst-rated production in the universe.
However, not all fans managed to implement the plan correctly. Some of the people who really wanted to harm the Disney series failed to do so. The Australian horror film “The Acolytes”, which has nothing to do with “Star Wars”, was hit by a ricochet. According to GameRant, the production has never had good reviews, but recently it has increased to 42 percent. positive opinions from viewers, the picture’s score dropped to 33%. Taking into account the previous arguments, it is difficult to say this is a coincidence.
