Furthermore, Simón praised the Spanish team’s wingers and stated that if Spain has the same performance as they did in their 3-0 victory over Croatia in their debut, they could go far in the competition.
“I don’t just want to focus on Lamine (Yamal) and Nico (Williams), but they are two wingers who generate a lot of fear. They are very important for us. We have to continue like this because I’m sure that if we play games like Croatia we will go far .”
With the result in the first round, Spain leads Group B, with three points. The team has the same score as its next opponent, Italy, but has a better goal difference (3-1). Albania and Croatia complete the bracket, both with zero points.
The duel between the Spanish and Italian teams, valid for the second round of the European Championship, will be held this Thursday, at 4pm (Brasília time), at the Veltins-Arena, in Germany.
