Unai Simon is excited about Spain in the European Championship: “It’s a group that excites and convinces everyone”

This Monday, Spain’s goalkeeper, Unai Simón, spoke at a press conference about the Eurocup dispute and was excited about the team’s prospects. The athlete also revealed the main changes to the national team since he was called up for the first time in 2020.

“This national team has changed because in 2021 we played a friendly against Portugal and people booed us. Furthermore, Simón praised the Spanish team’s wingers and stated that if Spain has the same performance as they did in their 3-0 victory over Croatia in their debut, they could go far in the competition.

“I don’t just want to focus on Lamine (Yamal) and Nico (Williams), but they are two wingers who generate a lot of fear. They are very important for us. We have to continue like this because I’m sure that if we play games like Croatia we will go far .”

With the result in the first round, Spain leads Group B, with three points. The team has the same score as its next opponent, Italy, but has a better goal difference (3-1). Albania and Croatia complete the bracket, both with zero points.

The duel between the Spanish and Italian teams, valid for the second round of the European Championship, will be held this Thursday, at 4pm (Brasília time), at the Veltins-Arena, in Germany.
