Gazzaev said that Euro 2024 is losing a lot due to the absence of the Russian national team
Former head coach of CSKA and the Russian national football team Valery Gazzaev described the consequences of the absence of the Russian national team at the 2024 European Championship. His words are quoted by Metaratings.
According to him, without the Russians the tournament loses a lot. “The Russian national team has always been a competitive team in all sports, including football. We remember the 2008 European Championship, where our team took bronze medals,” Gazzaev said.
Previously, Russian flags were seen at two Euro 2024 matches. Tricolors were displayed at the meeting between Serbia and England, as well as at the match between Germany and Scotland.
Euro 2024 takes place from June 14 to July 14 in 10 cities in Germany. The Russian national team misses the tournament due to suspension by the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA).
