Edmonton crushes Florida 8-1 in Game 4 of the Stanley Cup Final

A goal by Russian forward Vladimir Tarasenko did not save the Florida Panthers from a crushing defeat in Game 4 of the Stanley Cup finals. This was reported by a Lenta.ru correspondent.

The meeting in Canada ended with the victory of the Edmonton Oilers with a score of 8:1. Connor McDavid scored four points (goal + three assists) for the winners. In the current playoffs of the National Hockey League (NHL), he already has 38 points – this is a record figure in the 21st century. The Canadian surpassed the achievement of Evgeni Malkin, who scored 36 points for Pittsburgh in 2009.

Florida’s Russian goalkeeper Sergei Bobrovsky missed five goals after 16 shots in a match against Edmonton and was replaced in the 25th minute. Thus, in one match, Bobrovsky missed more goals than in the three previous games of the final. The score in the series up to four wins was 3:1 in favor of Florida. The Panthers are one game away from winning the first Stanley Cup in club history.

Previously, Bobrovsky was predicted to enter the NHL Hall of Fame. “If Bobrovsky wins the Stanley Cup, he will be inducted into the National Hockey League (NHL) Hall of Fame. He’s already close without it, but with the trophy he’ll almost certainly secure his place there,” said former Philadelphia Flyers goalkeeper Boucher.
