Salnikov said that the WFTU was notified that Efimova had received neutral status
The head of the All-Russian Swimming Federation (RSF) Vladimir Salnikov appreciated the receipt of neutral status by six-time world champion Yulia Efimova. His words are quoted by Match TV.
The President of the WFTU noted that the organization was notified of this in advance. “According to the rules of neutral status, the remaining steps are already up to her as a neutral athlete,” Salnikov said.
Efimova’s receipt of neutral status to participate in the 20204 Summer Olympics in Paris became known earlier on June 14. The Russian will be able to compete at the Games if she meets the qualification standard. She can do this until June 23 at international competitions.
In addition to six victories at the world championships, Efimova has three Olympic medals: bronze at the 2012 Games in London and two silvers at the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.
