West Ham will pay Palmeiras 30 million euros (around R$175 million), of which 23 million euros will be fixed and 7 million euros in bonuses. Alviverde will still maintain 20% of the athlete’s economic rights.
The Academy Child spoke for the first time as a West Ham player and expressed his happiness at joining the club.
“I’m very happy to sign with West Ham United, a club that trusted in my work. I also want to thank everyone at West Ham, especially Tim (Technical Director) and his team who came to Brazil and not only talked to me, but also with my family”, said Luis Guilherme.
The midfielder also revealed a conversation with the team’s coach, Julen Lopetegui, and praised him.
“The head coach and I have already spoken. He showed me his project and I believe I will learn a lot from him. He coached at national level in Spain and managed big clubs.”
Luis Guilherme was still excited about playing in the English Championship, which in his view is the “best league in the world”.
“The Premier League is the best league in the world. I believe I will improve a lot here with the entire West Ham team, which is fundamental for my development. As a child, whenever I had the opportunity, I watched English football. See how it is and now being able to play here is an incredible feeling”, he reported.
