Tatyana Tarasova stated her reluctance to think about the Kamila Valieva case
Honored figure skating coach of the USSR Tatyana Tarasova said that she no longer wants to think about the case of Russian Kamila Valieva. Her words are quoted by TASS.
According to the specialist, the athlete’s side will not achieve anything in the current situation. “Yes, we filed an appeal, but we did not raise these issues further. I don’t want to think about it, I want to think about the future. I never thought about the past, my dad taught me that,” Tarasova noted.
On January 29, the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) suspended Valieva for four years for violating anti-doping rules. The period of suspension of the athlete is counted from the moment of taking a positive test for the prohibited drug trimetazidine – December 25, 2021.
Due to disqualification, Valieva was deprived of gold at the 2020 Games in team competitions. All of her teammates on the Russian national team also lost their victory.
