The greatest scorer in the history of the German national team, Klose (71 goals in 137 games) began his career as a coach as an assistant to Hansi Flick at Bayern Munich, before taking over Altach, from Austria, in 2022.
Therefore, this will be the first experience in charge of a German team for the 46-year-old former striker, who retired in 2016 and is the record holder for goals in World Cups (16).
Klose will aim to take Nuremberg back to the top flight. The club, one of the most traditional in the country, is the second biggest winner of the German Championship with nine titles (behind Bayern’s 33), in addition to four German Cups.
