Pedri analyzes Spain’s game model: “We don’t always have to be faithful to the style and lose”

Barcelona midfielder Pedri commented this Tuesday at a press conference on some questions about the Spanish team and the European Championship. Among them, the style of play and a comparison with the 2010 world champion team.

“Anything that involves comparing ourselves with the world champion team is complicated. We would lose in many things. We want to win, we don’t always have to be faithful to our style and lose”, he stated.

The 21-year-old was also asked if his recent injuries still worried him and he responded in the negative.

“No. The press is more afraid than I am on the field. I try to play and enjoy it”, he reported.

In recent years, Pedri has suffered several injuries that left him sidelined for a long period. Because of this, the midfielder has not played more than 35 games for three seasons. The last time he achieved this feat was in 2020/21.

Now, recovered, the athlete assured that he is in good physical condition and planned his debut in the European Championship against Croatia.

“I feel very good physically and I’m looking forward to the game against Croatia”, he reported. “We know that the first game is important. It’s important to start on the right foot. We’re going to go out and win, we don’t want to leave anything off the field”, he concluded.

The duel between the teams will be held next Saturday, at 1 pm (Brasília time), at the Olympic Stadium in Berlin, Germany.
