Pesyakov was under threat of suspension because of a joke about billions from Zenit
Krylia Sovetov goalkeeper Sergei Pesyakov, who previously represented Rostov, spoke about the comments he receives from fans. His words are quoted by RB Sport.
Pesyakov said that he received many messages after an error in the decisive match of the Russian championship, thanks to which Zenit won the tournament. “In fact, all the comments are the same. The most common one is “for how much?” My wife and I still can’t spend the billions that Zenit transferred to us. We’re trying, but it just doesn’t work,” he joked.
According to the Telegram channel “First Sport”, because of the joke, Pesyakov was under threat of suspension and a fine of one million rubles. Previously, for such a statement – about a cash bonus from Krasnodar – Rubin Kazan midfielder Ruslan Bezrukov was conditionally disqualified for three months and fined 100 thousand rubles.
The RFU emphasized that even hints of third-party incentives are considered gross violations of the regulations of the organization, the International Football Federation (FIFA) and the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA).
