Shakhtar accused Tottenham of using SVO to transfer player Solomon
Shakhtar accused Tottenham of using a special military operation (SVO) to transfer footballer Manor Solomon. The words of the general director of the Ukrainian club Sergei Palkin are quoted by The Telegraph.
Palkin expressed dissatisfaction with the fact that the British signed a contract with the Israeli Solomon in the summer of 2023 and he left Shakhtar for free. “I can’t believe that a club with a huge history – not only European, but also world level – can behave like this. From my point of view, this is unacceptable behavior,” he said, comparing Tottenham to highway robbers.
After the start of the CBO, the International Football Federation (FIFA) in March 2022 allowed foreigners to unilaterally suspend contracts with Russian and Ukrainian clubs. Legionnaires could sign short-term agreements with foreign teams.
On February 28, 2022, FIFA and the Union of European Football Associations suspended Russian national teams and clubs from participating in international tournaments. Teams do not compete in European competitions, and the Russian national team has lost the opportunity to fight for access to the finals of the World and European Championships.
