Alenichev did not highly assess Promes’ chances of returning to Spartak

Former head coach of Spartak Moscow Dmitry Alenichev assessed the chances of Dutch football player Quincy Promes to return to the red-and-white lineup. His words are quoted by Match TV.

According to the expert, the likelihood of such a development of events is not very high. “I doubt that he will return to the club. I think that the story of “Spartak” with Promes is over,” said Alenichev.

At the same time, the coach expressed hope that Promes will continue his football career. “I saw that he started training. The main thing is that his case ends successfully,” Alenichev said.

On May 17, Promes was released from custody in the UAE, but he continues to be in the country. On February 29, the player was detained at border control at Dubai airport for being involved in an accident and leaving the scene. Two weeks later, the football player was arrested at the request of the Dutch prosecutor’s office for possible further extradition. The accident case was closed on May 1.

On February 14, an Amsterdam court sentenced Promes in absentia to six years in prison. In the summer of 2023, he received 18 months in prison in his homeland for attacking his brother with a knife.
