Loaned by Atlético de Madrid until June 30, João Félix does not know if he will stay at Barcelona for next season. However, the Portuguese player spoke openly about his desire to remain at the Catalan club and highlighted that the decision does not depend solely on him.
“There could be changes. I’ve already said that I love Barça. It’s always been my childhood club and I want to stay, but it doesn’t depend on me. It depends on many other things. And we’ll see what can happen”, said João Félix in an interview with the podcast Nude Project.
The striker’s stay for next season is also Barcelona’s wish. President Joan Laporta revealed that the Portuguese is one of the athletes with whom Deco, football director, is negotiating a contract extension.

João Félix arrived at Barcelona in September 2023. With the Barcelona shirt, the Portuguese played 44 matches, scored ten goals and provided six assists. The striker regretted the Catalan club’s titleless season, but was hopeful.
“We weren’t very lucky. It wasn’t a great season, because, in the end, we didn’t win anything, even though we were there, competing. Maybe next year, if I stay, we’ll be able to win at least something”, added the player.
