Bayern director on Mbappe’s move to Real Madrid: a nail in the coffin of football
Bayern sporting director Max Eberl praised the transfer of striker Kylian Mbappe from PSG to Real Madrid. His comment is quoted by Sueddeutsche Zeitung.
Eberl said that transfers today benefit players, families, agents, but not clubs. As a result, this has a negative impact on the football business. “You can always become a more greedy person for money, but anyone who is greedy for money will gradually become the nail in the coffin of football,” Eberl concluded.
Mbappe became a Real Madrid player on June 3. He changed clubs as a free agent, so PSG will not receive compensation for him.
The forward’s contract with Real is for five years – until the end of the 2028/2029 season. It also became known that Mbappe will receive 150 million euros as a signing bonus and will earn 15 million euros per year.
