Tarasova called the Paris Games banner with Isinbayeva an advertisement for Russian sports
Honored figure skating coach of the USSR Tatyana Tarasova appreciated the advertising banner for the 2024 Olympic Games, which depicts athlete Elena Isinbaeva with the Russian flag. Her words are quoted by TASS.
Tarasova called the banner placed in Paris an advertisement for Russian sports. “Because without Russians, sports are just ridiculous, we were, are and will be. And so they show us that when necessary, they advertise the Olympic Games in this way,” said the coach.
The poster shows Isinbayeva from behind after winning the pole vault at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. She holds a Russian flag in her hands.
The International Olympic Committee allowed Russians and Belarusians to participate in the 2024 Games as individual neutral athletes. At the same time, athletes who support a special operation in Ukraine, as well as those who have connections with the armed forces or security agencies of Russia and Belarus, will not be allowed to participate in the competition. In addition, representatives of team sports will miss the tournament.
The 2024 Olympic Games will be held in Paris from July 26 to August 11, 2024.
