The new coach Świątek announced that the 20-year-old player will now put more emphasis on playing in singles. This will come at the expense of starts in doubles, in which Świątek had very promising results last season in tandem with. Swiatek will not play in doubles in Australia

The changes in the Christmas schedule are evidenced by the fact that the Polish woman did not report to the doubles tournament in the upcoming Grand Slam. Świątek will only play in the singles tournament, which she will play as the ninth player in the world.

However, before Świątek starts in Melbourne, the season will begin in Adelaide, where she will be defending the title she won a year ago. The tournament in Australia will start on January 10th.

The Australian Open will run from January 17-30. It will be the fourth start in this tournament for Christmas. In the first, in 2019, it reached the second round. In the next two starts she was eliminated in the 4th round. A year ago, Simona Halep was better than the Polish woman, who won 3: 6, 6: 1, 6: 4.
