Lawyer Alekseev: Safonov can sign a contract with PSG despite alimony
Formally, an agreement on the transfer of Russian goalkeeper Matvey Safonov to the French PSG can be concluded now, but the footballer will be able to leave Russia only after paying alimony debts. Sports lawyer Sergei Alekseev told Lenta.ru about this.
“There are two regulatory systems here. The first is state-legal. And according to it, according to the court decision, the bailiffs imposed a ban on the player traveling abroad until he pays off the alimony debt. The second is the system of transfer relations, sports-legal, on the basis of which Safonov seeks to move to play for another club. Formally, a transfer agreement can be concluded, but in fact the athlete will not be able to leave the country,” Alekseev explained.
According to the lawyer, travel restrictions will be lifted as soon as Safonov pays off his debts and presents documents confirming this to the bailiff.
“As soon as he pays off the debt, on the same day he can hand over the documents to the bailiff, and by his decision he will immediately cancel the restrictive measure of security for leaving Russia,” said the source of Lenta.ru.
Earlier it was reported that the goalkeeper of the Russian national team was banned from leaving Russia due to a child support debt. After recalculation, Safonov found himself owing his ex-wife and daughter 60 million rubles.
