This Thursday, England announced that midfielders James Maddison, from Tottenham, and Curtir Jones, from Liverpool, were cut from the national team’s squad for the European Championship.

Coach Gareth Southgate initially called up 33 players to prepare for the tournament. However, only 26 athletes are allowed in the final list of the competition. Therefore, the coach will have to make some more cuts.
Maddison came onto the field during the English team’s 3-0 victory against Bosnia last Monday and played for around 30 minutes, but his performance was not enough to convince Southgate. While Curtis Jones didn’t even leave the bench.
The definitive call-up for the Euro Cup must be sent by this Friday. On the same day, the English team faces Iceland, at 3:45 pm (BrasÃlia time), at Wembley, in their last friendly before the start of the European championship.
