Taymazova and Tasoev joined the Russian judo team at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris
The Russian judo team has announced the names of the athletes who will go to the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris. This was reported on the website of the Russian Judo Federation (RJF).
The women’s team included bronze medalist of the Tokyo Games Madina Taymazova, who will compete in the weight category up to 70 kilograms. For men, a place in the team was given to world champion Inal Tasoev, who competes in a weight of over 100 kilograms.
For men, the Russian team will be represented in all seven weight categories. Women’s Olympic quotas were won in five categories.
On April 29 last year, the International Judo Federation (IJF) allowed Russians to participate in international tournaments. They are allowed to compete in a neutral status.
The Summer Olympic Games in Paris will take place from July 26 to August 11, 2024. The IOC allowed Russians and Belarusians to participate in the Olympics in Paris as individual neutral athletes.
