Goalkeeper coach of the Russian national team Kafanov confirmed Safonov’s transfer to PSG
Vitaly Kafanov, goalkeeper coach of the Russian national football team, confirmed the transfer of Krasnodar goalkeeper Matvey Safonov to Parisian PSG. His words are quoted by Sport24.
The specialist noted that he congratulated the goalkeeper on the transfer. “We are proud of Matvey. After the game with Belarus, I think we’ll talk in more detail,” said Kafanov.
The coach added that in the new club Safonov will fight for a place in the starting lineup. “To become the first, Matvey will need patience. I hope his adjustment period passes quickly. Safonov is confident in himself and is not going to sit on the bench,” Kafanov noted.
On June 7, the Russian team will play a friendly match with Belarus in Minsk. Safonov is part of the team for the upcoming game.
On May 25, it was reported that Safonov was close to moving to PSG. It was clarified that the clubs had reached a final agreement.
