Coach Sergei Semak complained about the lack of superstars at Zenit
Zenit head coach Sergei Semak appreciated the strength of the current blue-white-blue squad. His words are quoted on the team’s website.
The specialist complained about the lack of superstars in the club. “Our players left, we took almost no one in their place. Those players we took in the winter need to adapt. The same Pedro is an 18-year-old guy who came to us at the age of 17,” said Semak.
According to the coach, previously the quality of Zenit’s reinforcements was different. “Naturally, this season is very difficult,” Semak added.
Last season, Zenit won all the tournaments in which they took part. The Transfermarkt portal estimates the total value of the club’s squad at 160.3 million euros. In second place in the RPL for this indicator is Krasnodar (103.7 million).
