Irina Slutskaya said that she would compete at the Olympics in a neutral status

Two-time world champion, as well as silver and bronze Olympic medalist in figure skating, Irina Slutskaya revealed her attitude towards performing at the Games in a neutral status. Her words are quoted by NEWS.ru.

The ex-athlete said that she personally would agree to take part in the competition. “Everyone has their own work, they want to bring it to the highest point, to the peak. For an athlete, this is the Olympic Games. Everyone knows their heroes. Yes, it’s unpleasant that there is neither a flag nor an anthem,” she added.

The former figure skater also said that everyone in the world knows the names of Russian athletes. “Let the world be convinced once again that Russia wins in any conditions and circumstances,” the Russian woman said.

Earlier, the head of the All-Russian Federation of Rhythmic Gymnastics, Irina Viner, called representatives of the country who want to perform at the Games in Paris “homeless.” The head of the Russian Olympic Committee, Stanislav Pozdnyakov, also criticized Russian tennis players who want to compete at the Olympic Games. He called them a team of foreign agents.
