Russian figure skater Daniil Grishin will change his sports citizenship to French
Russian figure skater Daniil Grishin announced that he had decided to change his sports citizenship. His words are quoted by Match TV.
The 16-year-old athlete said that he had already received an exemption from the Russian Figure Skating Federation (FFKKR). He is currently awaiting documents from the International Skating Union to compete for the French national team.
Grishin competes in ice dancing and trained under coach Nikita Nazarov. Last season, paired with Milana Gilenko, he took fifth place at the Student Spartakiad.
Earlier it became known that the FFKKR assigned 15-year-old student of two-time Olympic champion Evgeni Plushenko Sofya Titova for further transfer to the Armenian national team. Karina Akopova and Nikita Rakhmanin can also join this team.
In addition, the FFKKR allowed the single skater Sofya Samodelkina, the sports couple Ekaterina Geinish – Dmitry Chigirev, and ice dancing performer Annabel Morozov to change their sports citizenship. They will move to the national teams of Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and the USA, respectively.
