Multi-champion for Bayern Munich, defender Jerôme Boateng was announced as a player for LASK, Austria, this Friday. At 35, he signed a contract with the Austrians until 2026.
Boateng was anxious and revealed the reason for choosing the club, claiming that the financial factor was not decisive.
“I received numerous offers, but I consciously chose LASK because the sporting path, the idea and the club’s visions completely convinced me. For me, this is much more important than the financial factor,” he said.
“The club has built something excellent in recent years and now I would like to use my experience to help LASK take the next steps. I am full of energy and will do everything I can to be as successful as possible together with LASK,” he added.

At Bayern Munich, Boateng made history and became one of the greatest players in the club’s history. There, he won 25 titles: nine German Championships, two Champions Leagues, two FIFA Club World Cups, five German Cups, two UEFA Super Cups and five German Super Cups.
At the beginning of February, the defender signed a contract with Salernitana, in Italy, where he did not achieve much success. He was part of the squad that was relegated to the Second Division, finishing the Italian Championship in 20th and last position, with just 17 points.
In addition to Bayern and Salernitana, Boateng has spent time at Lyon, Manchester City, Hertha Herlim and Hamburg. He also has history with the German national team, having won the 2014 World Cup.
