The RFU said it expects a two-year contract for Karpin in the Russian national team
General Secretary of the Russian Football Union (RFU) Maxim Mitrofanov spoke about the terms of a possible new contract with the head coach of the Russian national team Valery Karpin. His words are quoted by Bookmaker Rating.
Mitrofanov said that the RFU is counting on a two-year contract with the specialist. He emphasized that this is important, despite the suspension of the national team. “The team needs to be prepared for something. The cycle is two years at the national team level,” added the RFU Secretary General.
Earlier, Karpin spoke about his future in the national team. According to the specialist, he wants to continue working with the national team.
Karpin’s contract with the RFU expires in August this year. He has been leading the team since the summer of 2021, combining the positions of coach in the national team and Rostov.
