German coach Hans-Dieter Flick took charge of Barcelona. This was reported on the website of the Catalan club.

The contract with the 59-year-old specialist runs until June 30, 2026. “By hiring Hansi Flick as coach, Barcelona have chosen a man well known for his high-pressing, intense and bold style of play for his team,” the statement said.

Flick previously coached the German national team, Hoffenheim and Bayern. With the latter, he won two German championships, the German Cup and Super Cup, the Champions League, the UEFA Super Cup and the Club World Cup.

On May 24, Xavi, who had worked with the team since 2021, was fired from the post of head coach of Barcelona. In the 2022/2023 season, he won his first coaching titles with the team – he became the champion of Spain and the winner of the country’s Super Cup.
