A taekwondo athlete from Russia criticized people’s reaction to her decision to go to the Olympics

Taekwondo player Minina about the reaction to her decision to go to the Games: people are bipolar

Russian taekwondo athlete Tatyana Minina spoke about the reaction to her decision to go to the 2024 Olympic Games. The words of the silver medalist of the Olympic Games in Tokyo are quoted by Sport24.

“Various comments are flying in – “Why are you going?” or “How can you not go?” In short, people are bipolar. They can’t control themselves,” the athlete said critically. She noted that she tries to avoid information noise and concentrates on training.

Minina said that she never had the thought of abandoning the trip to Paris. “I will always feel like a Russian athlete. No one can take this away from me. Even if the inscription on my uniform is removed, in my soul I will remain an athlete from Russia. Like all our guys,” she explained the decision.

The Paris Olympics will take place from July 26 to August 11. Russians and Belarusians, if a number of conditions are met, will be able to compete in the individual competitions of the tournament in a neutral status. However, they will not be allowed to participate in the parade of delegations at the opening ceremony of the Games.
