The footballer himself did not give official comments about the transition. In a conversation with his girlfriend Marina Kondratyuk, he jokingly stated: “Yes, I’m in Paris. I’m already tired of eating croissants.”

25-year-old Safonov is a graduate of Krasnodar. In the completed season of the Russian Premier League (RPL), Safonov played 30 matches, in 11 of which he kept his goal intact. Together with the team, he won silver medals in the Russian Championship and was recognized as the best goalkeeper of the season.
