After winning the Portuguese Cup against Sporting, last Sunday, Sérgio Conceição is not expected to remain in Porto’s technical command for next season, as the newspaper found out. Recordfrom Portugal.
Sérgio Conceição had already spoken at a press conference last week with an air of farewell: “I’m the one who decides my future, period. If I’m going to leave Porto, it’s with a feeling of immense gratitude and a duty accomplished. My feeling is that I was up to the demands of Porto that I was used to”.
“If (the Portuguese Cup final) is my last game, (…) I will leave without taking a penny, they will pay me until the day I work, with the same dignity with which I entered”, concluded the coach

Conceição remained in charge of Porto for seven seasons, which earned the team a total of 11 trophies. The club became champion of the Portuguese Cup four times, won the Portuguese Championship on three occasions, in addition to the titles of the Portuguese Super Cup (3x) and the Portuguese League Cup.
The coach still has a contract with Porto until 2028, but the decision is final on both sides and the club will terminate the Portuguese’s contract and look for a new coach for next season.
