The decision was made by UEFA’s technical observer panel. In 12 games, Aitana found the net six times and provided six assists, being the player with the most goal contributions in the tournament. The 26-year-old midfielder also won the award for best player in the final.

“She influenced the game all over the field, with and without the ball. Highly progressive passes and high recoveries, in addition to scoring a great goal,” explained the panel.

Current best player in the world, Aitana Bonmatí is a key player in the Barcelona team that won the Women’s Champions League for the second consecutive time and the third cup in its history (2021, 2023 and 2024).

UEFA also announced the ideal team for the competition. With five players (Irene Paredes, Lucy Bronze, Aitana Bonmatí, Patri Guijarro and Graham Hansen), Barcelona dominated the selection. Runner-up Lyon had four athletes elected (Christiane Endler, Salma Bacha, Lindsey Horan and Kadidiatou Diani), while Chelsea (Jesse Carter) and PSG (Tabitha Chawinga) had one representative each.
