This Monday, Aston Villa announced the renewal of coach Unai Emery’s contract. The new bond will be valid for five years, until 2029.
In the 2023/24 season, the Spanish coach surprised and managed to qualify for the first Champions League in the club’s history, finishing fourth in the English Championship.
Furthermore, when Unai Emery arrived, in November 2022, Aston Villa was in 17th place in that Premier League and the commander took the team to seventh place, guaranteeing a place in the Conference League, the club’s first continental competition in 13 years.

The president of the English club, Nassef Sawiris, was excited about the coach’s renewal.
“We are building something special here at Aston Villa with Unai at the helm and we are delighted that he has signed a new contract with the club until 2029,” he said.
Unai Emery also spoke about the contract extension and praised Aston Villa’s structure.
“I am very happy to take this step and for the responsibility of leading this club. Since I came to Villa with Wes and Nassef, we have always found the best environment and structure to develop a project with the greatest ambition. The entire football structure with Monchi and Damian and the owners, we share the same vision and the same goals,” he said.
