This Monday, Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti held a press conference and spoke about the Champions League final against Borussia Dortmund. The decision will be played next Saturday, at 4pm (Brasília time), at Wembley, England.
The commander revealed how the Merengue club is preparing for the match.
“With all the emotion in the world, that’s what a final requires. There’s calm, confidence, it’s a week to enjoy, at least until Friday. A final is a success. We’ll go all the way,” he said.
Ancelotti also analyzed Real Madrid’s possible favoritism and highlighted Borussia Dortmund’s campaign to reach the final.
“We don’t think about that, we think that there is a rival that deserved to reach the final. They eliminated teams of great quality, Atlético (Madrid), PSG… They showed a great attitude. Convinced that we must suffer, fight and fight”, he stated.
“They are very quick in transition, they are a team with attitude and commitment. What caught my attention most against PSG was their attitude, that desire to reach the final, that is what stands out the most and what worries us most .”

The Italian coach also praised midfielder Toni Kroos, who announced his retirement at the end of the season, after playing in the European Championship for Germany, and commented on the possibility of the athlete ending his career with another Champions League title.
“I hope he can finish his career with the Champions League. On an individual level he deserves it. But his career doesn’t increase any more than it already does with a Champions League. One more doesn’t put him in Madrid’s history, he’s already Obviously it would be fantastic to win, but he is already in the history of world football.
Another point discussed was the dispute over the goalkeeper position between Thibaut Courtois and Andriy Lunin. The Belgian injured his knee at the beginning of the season and was left out for the entire campaign for the Merengue club. While the Ukrainian took over the starting role while he was away and did not commit.
“It’s a difficult decision, because both he (Courtois) and Lunin deserve to play in the final. For many reasons. Lunin has a fever. Courtois is the best in the world. I really enjoy the debate, especially this week when I don’t have much what to do (smiles). If I say who plays, the debate ends… I make the decision: one will play and the other will be on the bench”, he reported.
