Galatasaray won the Turkish Championship for the 24th in its history this Sunday, extending the drought of second-placed arch-rivals Fenerbahçe, who have not won the tournament for a decade.
After defeating Konyaspor 3-1 in the 38th and final round, Galatasaray ends the season with 102 points, a record.
Galatasaray dreamed of sealing the title at home a week ago, against Fenerbahçe, but the classic between the two biggest clubs in the country ended with the visitors winning 1-0, which postponed the decision for the final round.

Led by Argentine striker Mauro Icardi, who found the net twice this Sunday and finished the championship as top scorer with 25 goals, Galatasaray also qualified directly for the group stage of the Champions League.
Other highlights of the team this season were Uruguayan midfielder Lucas Torreira, Belgian midfielder Dries Mertens and Turkish striker Baris Yilmaz.
The directors of Fenerbahçe, which has not won the national league since 2014, denounced unfair refereeing decisions on several occasions throughout the championship.
