Coach Stefano Pioli said goodbye to Milan in this Saturday’s 3-3 draw against Salernitana at the San Siro in the Italian Championship. The coach had been at the club for almost five years, since October 2019. After the match, Pioli declared himself to Milan and thanked him.
“I started training 25 years ago and I always dreamed of doing big things, but I didn’t imagine I would feel something as strong as I felt here. I can only be happy and thank everyone I worked with”, said Pioli.

The commander also analyzed the preparation for this Saturday’s duel. In addition to Pioli himself saying goodbye, Frenchman Olivier Giroud and Danish Simon Kjaer are also leaving Milan. According to the coach, training for the game was different because of these goodbyes.
“Preparations for the match started earlier than usual. We had been waiting for this moment for two, three days, with many goodbyes, hugs and thanks. I’m very grateful for the club, for the owners, for everyone who worked with us and especially for these players, who are being spectacular. Especially in difficult times, where we stick together and keep faith in our work”, concluded Pioli.
Pioli managed Milan on 240 occasions. He won 132 matches, drew 56 and lost 52. The 58-year-old coach was champion of the 2022 Italian Championship.
