Striker Romarinho, formerCorinthians, said goodbye to Al-Ittihad, from Saudi Arabia, this Thursday. The player was honored and applauded by the fans at King Abdullah Sports City – the club’s stadium – before the duel against Dhamk, in the penultimate round of the Saudi Championship.
Romarinho arrived at Al-Ittihad in 2018. In six seasons defending the club’s colors, the Brazilian has 229 games, 111 goals scored and 32 assists, in addition to the Saudi Championship (2022/23) and Saudi Super Cup (2023) titles.
On their social networks, Al-Ittihad thanked Romarinho, stating that his achievements made him a living legend. Furthermore, the club presented him with a plaque and his framed shirt.

“In six years of service, your significant contributions to the club’s history certainly make you a living beauty. Your professionalism, passion and moments of talent have left a permanent mark on our club and in our hearts. As you move on to new challenges , know that you will forever be a beloved part of our family. We will miss you very much,” Al-Ittihad wrote.
Romarinho, therefore, will be free on the market soon, being able to sign with any club, including Corinthians. However, as found by the Sports GazetteTimão ruled out signing him and will not open talks with the striker, who also intends to remain in the Middle East.
Hero in the first game of the 2012 Libertadores final, against Boca Juniors, Romarinho has 16 goals and five assists in 121 games for Corinthians. The striker played for Timão between 2012 and 2014 and won four titles: Libertadores (2012), Club World Cup (2012), Campeonato Paulista (2013) and Recopa Sul-Americana (2013).
In addition to Romarinho, goalkeeper Marcelo Grohe, formerly of Grêmio, also said goodbye to Al-Ittihad. Like the striker, the goalkeeper was honored by the club, which he defended for five seasons.
