World Cup champion German Toni Kroos will retire after Euro 2024
Real Madrid and Germany midfielder Toni Kroos will retire at the end of the season. The athlete announced this on his Instagram page (social network banned in Russia; belongs to the Meta company, recognized as an extremist organization and banned in the Russian Federation).
“My career will end this summer after Euro 2024. As I always said: “Real Madrid was and will be my last club,” the German wrote. He noted that he always wanted to finish at the top and is now striving to win another cup with the Madrid team.
In the 2023/2024 season, 34-year-old Kroos played in 46 matches in all competitions, scoring one goal and nine assists. The midfielder won the Spanish championship and reached the Champions League final.
Kroos has been playing for Real Madrid since the summer of 2014. Together with the Spaniards, he won the Champions League four times, and once again the footballer won the trophy with Bayern. Also in 2014, Kroos won the World Cup with the German national team.
