Handball CSKA beat Chekhov’s Bears and became the champion of Russia
The CSKA handball club defeated the Chekhov Bears in the second match of the final playoff series of the Russian Championship and won the title for the second time in a row. This was reported by a Lenta.ru correspondent.
The game took place on Sunday, May 19, in Chekhov and ended with the guests winning with a score of 30:27. In the best-of-two series, the score became 2-0 in favor of CSKA. In the first meeting, which was previously held in Moscow, the army team won with a score of 26:25.
Thus, CSKA successfully defended the title. The victory in the Russian championship was the second in the history of the club. Until 2023, for 21 consecutive seasons, Chekhov’s Bears handball players became national champions.
In February, CSKA captain Daniil Shishkarev spoke about the attitude towards Russians in Europe. According to an athlete who previously competed in Macedonia, Russians are treated well there. “The adult generation of Macedonians spoke and speaks with trepidation about Russia as a great power,” the handball player noted.
