Fury linked Usik’s victory on points with the conflict in Ukraine

The judges awarded victory to Ukrainian Oleksandr Usik because there is military action in his country, British boxer Tyson Fury said after his defeat in the title fight. His words are reported by the Daily Mail.

“I think we both put up a good fight – it was the best we could do. And, you know, his country is at war. People take the side of a country that is at war,” he said.

On the night of May 19, Usik won on points over Fury in a fight for the title of absolute world heavyweight boxing champion in Saudi Arabia.

The fight took place in Riyadh and lasted all 12 rounds. It ended with Usik winning by split decision – 115-112, 113-114, 114-113. This is Fury’s first defeat in his professional career after 34 wins and 1 draw. Usik won his 22nd fight in the professional ring and remains undefeated.
