With one more, Porto beats Braga in the Portuguese and guarantees a place in the next Europa League

Porto beat Braga this Saturday 1-0, at the Braga Stadium, in the last round of the Portuguese Championship. Right-back Víctor Gómez Perea was sent off just 12 minutes into the first half and left the home team with one less for almost the entire match.

With the result, Porto finished the competition in third place, with 72 points, and guaranteed qualification for the next Europa League. Braga ended the championship in fourth place, with 68, and will play in the Conference League play-offs.

Porto takes the field again on the 26th, at 1:15 pm (Brasília time), against Sporting, at Centro Desportivo Nacional do Jamor, in the Portuguese Cup final. While Braga played their last match of the season.

In the 12th minute of the first half, Víctor Gómez received a second yellow card after a strong challenge on Evanilson and was sent off, leaving Braga with one less.

Porto put pressure on Braga throughout the match and managed to open the scoring in the 38th minute of the second half. Mehdi Taremi advanced through the middle and gave a great pass to Brazilian Galeno, who finished first time past the goalkeeper to score the only goal of the game.

Sporting, who won the title with 90 points, qualified directly for the Champions League. While Benfica, second placed, with 80, will compete in the qualifiers for the continental tournament. Porto, with 72 points, managed to qualify for the Europa League. And Braga, with 68, will play in the Conference League play-offs.

Relegated

Those relegated from the Portuguese Championship were Vizela (17th), with 26 points, and Chaves (18th), with 23. In addition to them, Portimonense (16th), with 32, will compete in a knockout round to remain in the first division.
