Coach Thomas Tuchel confirmed this Friday in a press conference that he will leave Bayern Munich at the end of the season. The coach had communicated the decision in February, but the possibility of him continuing emerged after the Bavarian club had difficulty finding a replacement. However, the parties did not reach an agreement and the German commander will leave the club.
“This is my last press conference. There were talks, but we did not reach an agreement, so the February decision remains valid,” he said.

Tuchel also stated that the Champions League campaign was vital to return to talks about the possibility of remaining in the team.
“Obviously it’s difficult. Results like those in the Champions League against Lazio, Arsenal and Real Madrid brought us together. The reaction of the last few weeks was the basis for us to talk again. But we couldn’t reach an agreement. I won’t say the reasons. The agreement February remains”, he concluded.
The 50-year-old coach arrived at Bayern Munich in March last year. In total, he led the team in 60 games, won 37, drew eight and lost 15. Furthermore, he was champion of the 2023 German Championship, despite having taken over the team with the trophy already on the way.
In the current season, the Bavarian club ended its run of 11 consecutive Bundesliga titles and was eliminated in the second round of the German Cup. In the Champions League, the team had a good campaign and reached the semi-final, where they were beaten by Real Madrid.
Tuchel’s last match in charge of Bayern Munich will be this Saturday, at 10:30 am (Brasília time), against Hoffenheim, at the Rhein-Neckar-Arena, for the 34th round of the German Championship.
