Dutchman Arne Slot will replace Jurgen Klopp as Liverpool head coach
Liverpool have decided on a coach to replace Jurgen Klopp, Dutchman Arne Slot. ESPN reports this.
“I can confirm that I will be Liverpool manager next season. I was a little late for the press conference because I wanted to personally say goodbye to some people on my previous team,” Slot said.
Since 2021, Slot has worked for the Dutch Feyenoord. With this club he became the champion of the Netherlands and the winner of the Dutch Cup, and also reached the final of the Conference League. The 45-year-old turned down offers from Leeds United and Tottenham Hotspur last year. Liverpool agreed with Feyenoord on compensation for the transfer of the coach in the amount of $11.8 million.
At the end of January, Klopp announced that he would leave Liverpool after the end of the current season. “The fact is that I’m running out of strength. I have known for a long time that I would have to announce this at some point,” said the German coach.
