This Friday morning, Carlitos Tévez resigned and left his position as coach of Independiente, from Argentina, according to TyC Sports. The coach has already notified the team president and will play his last game in charge of the team this Sunday, at 3:30 pm (Brasília time), against Platense, away from home, in the Argentine Championship.
The former Corinthians player arrived at Independiente in August 2023, helping the club stay in the first division and fight for a place in the League Cup. However, the team’s performance fell this year and the poor results led Tévez to make the decision to leave the club.
In the current season, Independiente has played 14 games, eight wins, five draws and four defeats. In total, Tévez led the team in 31 matches, won 14, drew ten and lost seven.
This was the second club in Tévez’s coaching career. Previously, the Argentine had coached Rosario Central, in 2022.
