Guberniev: Spartak legionnaire Quincy Promes should be in a Dutch prison
Sports commentator Dmitry Guberniev spoke sharply about the release from custody of Spartak legionnaire Quincy Promes. His words are reported by RIA Novosti.
“Why the hell is he needed in Russia? I’m not expecting him here. In general, a Dutch prison awaits him. Quincy Promes is a criminal and should be in prison,” the journalist said.
Earlier on May 17, it became known about Promes’ release from custody in the UAE. The conditions for the player’s release were not specified.
On February 29, Promes was detained at border control at Dubai airport for being involved in an accident and leaving the scene. Two weeks later, the football player was arrested at the request of the Dutch prosecutor’s office for possible further extradition. The accident case was closed on May 1.
On February 14, an Amsterdam court sentenced Promes in absentia to six years in prison. In the summer of 2023, he received 18 months in prison in his homeland for attacking his brother with a knife.
