Hockey player Tereshchenko about Hasek’s words about Russia: the puck often flew into his head
Three-time world champion in hockey Alexey Tereshchenko responded to Olympic champion, two-time Stanley Cup winner Dominik Hasek, who said that the teams would not want to play with the Russian national team at the World Championship. His words are quoted by Soviet Sport.
Tereshchenko criticized the Czech athlete. “The puck hit my head very often while I was playing in goal. Apparently, there is nothing left in my head, what else can I say,” he said.
On May 15, Hasek assessed the 2024 World Hockey Championship without Russians. He said that no one misses the Russian team.
The 2024 World Cup takes place in Prague and Ostrava, Czech Republic, from May 10 to 26. The national teams of Russia and Belarus are missing the tournament due to sanctions from the International Hockey Federation. In addition, fans were prohibited from bringing any symbols of the two countries into the stands.
