37 – this is how many assists in 2021 were reported by Ajax Amsterdam’s midfielder Dusan Tadić. Information about the Serb’s achievement was provided on social media by the Dutch club. Not just any achievement, because Tadic’s result was called the best in history.
According to Ajax, Serb broke Lionel Messi’s record, with 36 assists in 2011. As it turned out, however, the situation is not as clear and obvious as the Dutch club presented it.
Tadić did not break Messi’s record?
As it turned out, Ajax counted Tadic assists from all games this year. Social gatherings were also taken into account. In them, the Serb had two assists. When Messi’s numbers were reported in 2011, friendly matches were not taken into account. And in them the Argentine had four assists, which means that the number of the last 40 passes should be given in his case.
