“Sevilla FC’s greatest legend”, that’s how the Spanish club defined Jesús Navas. In a statement released this Thursday, Sevilla announced that the player will leave the team at the end of the season, when the contract between the parties ends.
According to the note, Jesús Navas informed the club and all his teammates of his decision to leave the team during training this Thursday morning.
Sevilla still left the door open for him to return in the future, being able to play another professional role. The team also thanked the athlete for the services provided.
“Sevilla FC wishes Jesús Navas good luck in his new professional challenge and thanks him for the dedication, professionalism and honesty with which he defended the Sevilla shirt, which has become his greatest emblem”, it was written.

Navas’ farewell match will be on May 25, against Barcelona, at the Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán Stadium, close to the Sevilla fans.
At 38 years old, Jesús Navas is the player with the most titles and appearances in Sevilla’s history. So far, he has played 688 games and scored 39 goals, as well as 119 assists.
Revealed in Sevilla’s own youth categories, Navas debuted as a professional in 2003. He transferred to Manchester City in 2013, but returned to the Spanish team in 2017.
