This Thursday morning, the country that will host Euro 2024, Germany, released the list of athletes called up for the competition. There are 27 players in the list, so the name of one will have to be cut, as the maximum allowed by UEFA is 26.
The highlight is the absence of striker Adeyemi and defender Hummels, who shone in the campaign that took Borussia Dortmund to the Champions League final. Bayern Munich midfielder Goretzka was also left out.
The one who appears on the list is Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kross. He had retired from the national team, but announced, in February this year, that he reconsidered his decision following a request made by Julian Nagelsmann, Germany’s current coach.
