In the early hours of this Friday, in Bangkok, Thailand, FIFA will choose the host country for the next Women’s World Cup, which will be held in 2027. Brazil is one of the candidates and, for the first time, will try to take the tournament to to South America.
The decision will be announced at the 74th FIFA congress. The ceremony will start at 11pm (Brasília time) and will be broadcast on the FIFA + platform. The election will take place at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center and will feature the participation of 211 representatives from the entity’s member associations, who will be responsible for defining the host country of the tournament, after a long candidacy process.

“Countdown to the FIFA Congress. Member associations will vote on a number of different football topics at the 74th FIFA Congress, which will take place tomorrow in Bangkok, including the host(s) of the 2027 Women’s World Cup!”, says the official FIFA publication, on X .
After the United States and Mexico officially withdrew their bid in April, Brazil is in contention with Belgium, Germany and the Netherlands, who came together to form a single bid to host the 10th edition of the Women’s World Cup.
“We are completing all stages of the candidacy process with excellence and showing that we are ready to organize the best Women’s World Cup in FIFA’s history. In addition to holding a memorable event, the World Cup has a strategic role in the development of women’s football in our country country. We will work until the last minute to guarantee the maximum number of votes in the election”, stated the president of the CBF, Ednaldo Rodrigues.
